Our Scouting Youth Program
We have a Youth Program which fosters the personal growth of each of our youth members, through adventurous, fun, challenging and inclusive programs based around the fundamentals of Scouting.
All of this is done while keeping young people at the centre and making sure that everything we do is for their development.

Achievement Pathways - Youth Program
Scouting provides lots of opportunities for personal achievement. The progression through these challenges is recognised by Scouting's Achievement Pathways. There's many different paths, and each Scout's path will be unique. Start your youth's journey on the Achievement Pathways now!

Outdoor Adventure Skills (OAS) - Youth Program
The Outdoor Adventure Skills (OAS) have been introduced to increase the outdoor adventure in Scouting. These outdoor pursuits, offered to young people of all ages, provide members with the opportunity to experience and then pursue activities of interest in the great outdoors. Whether it is hiking, camping, water activities or climbing, members may choose to gain basic skills across a broad range of activity areas, or they may pursue a small number of activity disciplines to a high skill level—the choice is extensive, so what will your new Scout do?

Special Interest Areas (SIA) - Youth Program
The Special Interest Areas (SIAs) encourage Scouts from all sections to try new things and pursue existing interests. Scouts set their own goals, enabling them to design a project that interests and challenges them personally. They are broad, encouraging Scouts to pursue a diversity of interests and to ensure any activity a Scout could possibly think of can be included.

Our Virtual Samford Scout Group Hall - log in via Microsoft Teams
For leaders and Adult Supporters (Committee) only - Online communication tools play an increasingly important role in keeping us all connected, particularly given the recent developments surrounding COVID-19.
Even as we all practice social distancing, and with sometimes face-to-face activities suspended or restricted, Scouts is still a place where young people can feel supported and connected to their community.
Microsoft Teams is valuable in helping us to keep the Scouting spirit going strong to support our Group and Sections in addition to meeting face-to-face. We’ve set up a Virtual Scout Hall (Microsoft Teams site) for our Scout Group, to enable us to communicate, meet and conducting activities online.
